Ingredients
40 targeted bioactives, led by a complete vitamin and mineral complex, taurine, L-carnitine and choline, the amino acids L-leucine, L-tryptophan, L-cysteine and DL-methionine, glucosamine, GreenDroitin™ chondroitin, hyaluronic acid and MSM, hemp seed (CBD-free), flaxseed and borage oils with DHAgold™ algae, and the botanicals ashwagandha, Siberian ginseng, shiitake, echinacea, green tea, boswellia, turmeric, ginger and milk thistle, built on the Calsporin® probiotic, two postbiotics (TruPet™ and heat-inactivated Lactobacillus helveticus HA-122) and Biolex® MB40 and Fibrofos™ 60 prebiotic fibres. Every ingredient and inclusion level is listed in full below.
Cold Extrusion Benefits
Heat is the enemy of many of the actives that make a supplement worth giving, so every Bioactive Bite is cold-extruded, shaped at a gentle 38°C, close to a dog's own body temperature.
Why the gentle process matters:
- Vitamins keep their potency. Heat-sensitive nutrients such as vitamin C, the B vitamins and vitamin A are easily lost in cooking, so a gentle process helps protect the declared levels.
- Delicate oils stay intact. Fragile fats like the DHA in DHAgold™ and the essential fatty acids in hemp seed, flaxseed and borage oils oxidise and lose their value when heated, so a low temperature helps protect them.
- Amino acids are protected. High heat damages amino acids such as L-tryptophan and L-leucine through browning reactions with sugars, so a gentle process helps keep them available.
- Prebiotic fibres stay whole. Fructo-oligosaccharides such as those in Fibrofos™ 60 are broken down by high heat, so a gentle process helps keep the biotic foundation intact.
- Botanicals keep their activity. Delicate compounds, including the withanolides in ashwagandha, the catechins in green tea, the boswellic acids in boswellia and the curcuminoids in turmeric, are easily degraded by heat.
In short, cold extrusion is how a carefully designed formula still delivers once it is in the bowl.

How does it Work?
When you sign up, your renewal period will automatically calculate depending on the daily dose required, determined by the dog’s weight you selected when ordering.
What’s the Benefit of a Subscription?
Subscribing for your dog’s supplements means you won’t need to think about reordering each time, you can relax knowing a new packet of chews will conveniently arrive just when you need them. Of course, you get to enjoy 10% discount off the regular price too.
Is it flexible, or am I bound by a Contract?
Your subscription to Bonza Supplements is a commitment-free, rolling subscription plan. A simple click in your account dashboard gives you complete control over every aspect – cancel, pause, or change deliveries – at any time.
The Daily Foundation, for Every Year Ahead
You choose your dog's food with care. And still, at the back of your mind, a question lingers: is it truly enough? Every diet has its gaps, raw, home-prepared, plant-based or premium, and as dogs age, those gaps can widen.
It happens so gradually you almost miss it. The grey creeping across the muzzle. The longer lie-in after a walk. The ball they watch go by rather than chase. Your dog is still every bit themselves, they just need a little more from every meal to stay that way.
Ageing changes what the body needs. Energy production slows, joints and muscle need more upkeep, and the gut microbiome tends to lose diversity, which matters because so much of the immune system resides in the gut. Along the gut-longevity axis, a balanced gut and steady, complete nutrition help support how well a dog ages, not just how long.
Boost is the answer to ‘is it enough?’
One chew a day that covers the foundations, built on a healthy gut. Not a quick fix and not a shelf of separate pots, but complete daily support from adulthood through the senior years.
What Boost Supports
Six Ways Boost Supports Your Dog Through the Years
Each benefit connects back to the gut, because healthy ageing is built from the inside out.
Everyday Vitality
Taurine, L-carnitine and B vitamins support everyday energy and a healthy metabolism.
The science
Taurine (298.35mg per chew) is an amino acid involved in heart muscle and nerve function, L-carnitine (29.7mg) carries fatty acids into the cells' mitochondria to be used for energy, and the vitamin B complex supplies the cofactors of energy metabolism.
For the evidence, see the gut-heart axisA Sharp, Engaged Mind
DHA, choline and L-tryptophan nourish the brain and nervous system.
The science
DHAgold™ algae (45mg) supplies DHA, a structural part of brain cell membranes, choline (124.65mg as choline chloride) is a building block of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and L-tryptophan (14.85mg) is the dietary building block of serotonin.
For the evidence, see the gut-brain axisComfortable Movement
Joint nutrients and botanicals support comfortable joints, with L-leucine for healthy muscle.
The science
Glucosamine HCl (181.8mg), N-acetyl D-glucosamine (72.9mg), GreenDroitin™ chondroitin (45mg), MSM (90mg) and hyaluronic acid (7.65mg) support cartilage and joint fluid, boswellia, turmeric and ginger support joint comfort, and L-leucine (30.15mg) supports muscle protein.
For the evidence, see the gut-joint axisBalanced Immune Response
Around 70% of immune tissue sits in the gut. Biotics, shiitake and echinacea support your dog's natural defences.
The science
Calsporin® (7.5 × 10⁸ CFU per chew), the postbiotics TruPet™ and heat-inactivated L. helveticus HA-122, shiitake (30.15mg) and echinacea (14.85mg) interact with the gut-associated immune tissue, with zinc, selenium and vitamin C as building blocks.
For the evidence, see the gut-immune axisHealthy Ageing
Antioxidants, adaptogens and liver-supporting nutrients help protect cells through the years.
The science
Natural vitamin E (13.5mg), vitamin C (29.7mg), green tea and cranberry provide antioxidants, ashwagandha (45mg) and Siberian ginseng (14.85mg) are adaptogens traditionally used for resilience, and milk thistle, L-cysteine and DL-methionine support the liver, which processes much of what the gut absorbs.
For the evidence, see the gut-longevity axisSkin, Coat and Heart
Plant oils and algae-sourced Omega-3 nourish the skin, coat and heart.
The science
Hemp seed oil (180mg, CBD-free), flaxseed oil (45mg) and borage oil (45mg) provide Omega-3, Omega-6 and GLA for the skin barrier and coat, alongside Omega-3 DHA from DHAgold™ algae.
For the evidence, see the gut-skin axisHow Boost Works
The Science Behind Boost
-
Balance the Gut
Fibrofos™ 60 and Biolex® MB40 feed the beneficial bacteria already living in your dog's gut, while Calsporin® (Bacillus velezensis DSM 15544), a studied spore-forming probiotic, survives digestive transit to add more of them. Two postbiotics, TruPet™ and heat-inactivated Lactobacillus helveticus HA-122, then deliver the beneficial compounds those bacteria produce. A gut that keeps its balance and diversity is the foundation every other system ages on.
Calsporin® delivers 7.5 × 10⁸ CFU per chew · L. helveticus HA-122 1.35 × 10⁹ cells
-
Fill the Gaps
A complete vitamin and mineral complex, with vitamins A, D3, C and E and the B group alongside chelated zinc, iron, copper and manganese, iodine and selenium, covers the everyday nutritional needs that can become harder to meet as dogs age. Taurine, L-carnitine, choline and four amino acids add the building blocks for energy, muscle and a sharp mind.
Taurine 298.35mg · Choline chloride 124.65mg · L-carnitine 29.7mg · Zinc 11.88mg
-
Support the Whole Dog
Glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and hyaluronic acid support the joints, DHA and plant oils nourish the brain, skin and heart, and ashwagandha, Siberian ginseng, shiitake, echinacea and green tea support resilience and natural defences. That is the gut-longevity axis at work: care for the gut, and you care for the whole dog as the years go by. One Gut. Whole Dog.™ is not just a name. It is how the body actually works.

Setting Expectations
Your Dog's Journey With Boost
Supporting healthy ageing from the inside out is a gradual, biological process, not an instant fix. Here is what many owners report as a general guide.
-
Week 1-2
Settling In
The vitamins, minerals and gut foundation begin to work together. Some dogs have a brief digestive adjustment, such as softer stools, which usually passes within a week.
-
Week 2-4
First Signs of Vitality
Many owners notice a brighter, more engaged dog with steadier energy through the day.
-
Month 2-3
Building Support
As the joint nutrients, essential fats and antioxidants build, many owners report easier movement, a glossier coat and a dog who enjoys their walks again.
-
Ongoing
Years Well Lived
Consistent daily use maintains the whole-body support Boost provides, through the senior years and every season of life.
Nutritional support is cumulative, so giving Boost consistently each day matters more than giving more. Boost already contains a complete vitamin and mineral complex, so check with your vet before adding any other vitamin or mineral supplement.
Better Together
Works Even Better Together
Boost works best on a strong gut foundation. Pair it with Biotics and the gut-longevity axis is supported at both ends: Biotics at the microbial root, Boost across the whole dog.

FAQ
Your Questions Answered
What are Bonza Supplements?
Supplements are daily soft-chew supplements for dogs. Every Bite is built on a gut-health foundation of named biotics, then layered with targeted bioactives that work along a specific gut-organ axis to support a particular concern, from digestion and skin to calm, joints and senior vitality.
What is Boost, and who is it for?
Boost is the complete daily foundation in the Supplements range: one chew that brings together what would otherwise take several supplements, built on a pre, pro and postbiotic foundation. It suits any adult dog, and it is formulated with the senior years especially in mind, for dogs in or approaching their later years. It combines a full vitamin and mineral complex with taurine, L-carnitine, essential fats, joint nutrients and botanicals to support vitality, a sharp mind, comfortable movement and a balanced immune response.
How is Boost different from a standard multivitamin?
A standard multivitamin supplies vitamins and minerals. Boost supplies a complete vitamin and mineral complex, in chelated forms chosen for absorption, and then adds what a multivitamin leaves out: a pre, pro and postbiotic gut foundation, amino acids such as taurine, L-carnitine and L-leucine, Omega-3 DHA from algae, joint nutrients and named botanicals, every one with its inclusion level declared.
Does Boost replace my dog's other supplements?
For many dogs, yes. Boost brings vitamins, minerals, biotics, Omega-3 DHA, joint nutrients and botanicals together in one chew, so a separate multivitamin, probiotic or Omega-3 oil is usually no longer needed. For a specific concern, a dedicated Bite goes further: Bounce, for example, carries higher levels of joint nutrients. Never stop anything your vet has prescribed, and check with your vet before adding any other vitamin or mineral supplement.
My dog already eats a complete food. Does my dog still need Boost?
A complete food is formulated to meet your dog's requirements, and for many dogs that is enough. Boost adds what complete foods do not set out to provide: a pre, pro and postbiotic foundation, DHA, taurine, L-carnitine, joint nutrients and botanicals at meaningful levels. As dogs age, appetite and how well nutrients are absorbed can change, which is when that extra support matters most.
What is the gut-longevity axis, and why does it matter for healthy ageing?
The gut-longevity axis is the link between the gut microbiome and how well a dog ages. As dogs grow older, the gut microbiome tends to lose diversity, and because so much of the immune system resides in the gut, that balance matters for the whole body. Boost supports the gut foundation alongside the nutrients the senior years ask more of. Read more about the gut-longevity axis.
My dog is not a senior yet. Can I give Boost?
Yes. Boost is formulated for dogs from 12 weeks and older, and the daily amount adjusts by body weight. Many owners start it as their dog reaches middle age, or give it to adult dogs on home-prepared, raw or plant-based diets for complete daily balance. For growing puppies, check with your vet first.
Can I give Boost alongside my dog's usual food?
Yes. Boost is a daily soft chew given as a treat or with food, so it fits alongside whatever your dog already eats, including our Superfoods & Ancient Grains. Because Boost contains a complete vitamin and mineral complex, check with your vet before giving it alongside any other vitamin or mineral supplement, or alongside a veterinary diet.
My dog has been diagnosed with a health condition. Can I give Boost?
Boost is a food supplement, not a veterinary medicine, and it is not a treatment for any condition. Many owners of dogs with a diagnosed condition give Boost daily as part of the care plan their vet has put in place. Talk to your vet before starting, particularly if your dog takes medication or has a kidney, liver or thyroid condition, and never stop or change a prescribed treatment without their advice.
Boost contains garlic oil. Is that safe for dogs?
Garlic can be harmful to dogs in excessive amounts, which is why Boost contains only a very small amount of garlic oil, 3mg per chew, with the daily amount set by your dog's weight. If your dog has anaemia or another blood condition, or takes medication, check with your vet before starting.
Is the hemp seed oil in Boost CBD?
No. Boost contains hemp seed oil, pressed from the seeds, which is CBD-free. It is there for its Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids, alongside the DHA from DHAgold™ algae.
Which Bioactive Bite is right for my dog?
Choose by the concern that matters most: Belly for digestion, Biotics for microbiome balance, Block for skin and coat, Bliss for calm, Bounce for joints and mobility, Banish for flea-season skin and coat support, and Boost for the senior years. If healthy ageing and complete daily nutrition are your main concern, Boost is the place to start. You can compare all seven Bites on our Supplements page.
What is the difference between Boost and Bounce?
Bounce is the dedicated joint and mobility chew, with higher levels of cartilage and connective tissue nutrients. Boost is a complete daily multivitamin that includes joint support among everything else. For a senior dog whose joints are the main concern, many owners give both; introduce them gradually and follow the feeding guide on each pack by your dog's weight.
What is Boost free from, and is it suitable for dogs with allergies?
Boost is made without meat, wheat, soy or corn, so it contains no chicken or beef, the proteins most often behind food sensitivities in dogs. That makes it a gentle daily choice for many sensitive dogs. If your dog has a diagnosed allergy, check the full ingredient list above before starting, and have a word with your vet if you are unsure.
Why is Boost plant-based?
Plant-based by consequence, not by trend. The most common food sensitivities in dogs are animal proteins like chicken and beef, so a plant-based formula sidesteps them, which is what makes Boost gentle on sensitive dogs. It suits vegan households too, but the reason we make it this way is health, not ideology.
Is Boost suitable for pregnant or nursing dogs?
For pregnant or nursing dogs, check with your vet before starting. Their nutritional needs change during this time, and your vet can advise on what is right for them.
Are Supplements safe?
Yes. Supplements are food supplements made from food-grade ingredients at gentle, effective levels, formulated by our nutritionist and approved by our veterinary advisory board. They are supplements, not medicines, and are designed to complement a balanced diet rather than replace veterinary care. They are made for daily, long-term use, with no need to cycle on and off. If your dog has a health condition or takes medication, check with your vet before starting.
Are there any side effects?
Boost is well tolerated by most dogs. A few have softer stools in the first few days as the microbiome adapts, which usually settles within a week. If your dog has a known sensitivity to any listed ingredient, check with your vet before starting.
Who formulated Boost?
Boost was formulated by Bonza's founder, Glendon Lloyd, who holds Diplomas in Canine Nutrition and Dog Nutrigenomics, both with Distinction, and it is approved by our Veterinary Advisory Board. Every ingredient is selected on published research and included at a meaningful level.
Are the ingredients backed by evidence?
Yes. Every active is chosen for a reason and included at a meaningful level, not a token pinch. Boost is nutritionist formulated and vet approved, and you can see each ingredient, its inclusion level and the published research behind it in the full formula above.
What is cold extrusion, and why does it matter?
Cold extrusion is a low-temperature way of shaping the chews. Every Bite is formed at just 38°C, close to a dog's body temperature, rather than the high heat of conventional cooking and standard extrusion. That matters because heat degrades many of the actives we use, from vitamins and delicate oils to amino acids and plant compounds. Keeping the process gentle helps preserve them, so the levels shown in the formula are protected through manufacture.
How long until I see a difference?
Many owners notice a brighter, more engaged dog within two to four weeks. Joint, skin and coat support builds over six to twelve weeks of consistent daily use. Nutritional support is cumulative, so giving Boost consistently each day matters more than giving more.
How many Bites should I give my dog?
Give Boost daily by your dog's weight: one Bite up to 10kg, two Bites for 10 to 20kg, three Bites for 20 to 30kg, and four Bites over 30kg. Give as a treat or with food, and keep to the same time each day. Consistency matters more than giving more.
Can my dog have too many?
Stick to the daily amount for your dog's weight. Boost contains a complete vitamin and mineral complex set for the daily amount, so if your dog ever gets into a whole pack, contact your vet.
Can I give my dog more than one Bite at a time?
Yes. Many owners pair Boost with Biotics as the Senior Routine, with Biotics concentrating the gut foundation beneath Boost, and some add Bounce for extra joint support. When combining more than one, introduce them gradually and follow the feeding guide on each pack by your dog's weight.
